TEXT: MARK 5:22-24, 35-43
"And He took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha Cumi; which is being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise."
Matthew 5:41 KJV
Matthew 5:41 KJV
In our passage today a young girl, twelve years old was sick and at the brink of death. The father Jarius ran to Jesus for healing but before he got home with Jesus the girl had died.
Now that is a hopeless situation. What could me more hopeless than
death? What hopeless situation are you in right now? Are you at the verge of
giving up thinking all hope is lost? As the doctor told you your case is
terminal? Are you facing the death of your business, career, marriage etc? From
the passage above it is obvious that even when it seems all hope was lost, there is still hope in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Only Christ can give hope
to the hopeless.
Do you want to know how to turn your hopelessness around? Jesus did it in four clear steps. Let's learn from the Master.
Do you want to know how to turn your hopelessness around? Jesus did it in four clear steps. Let's learn from the Master.
1. ELIMINATE FEAR
“Be not afraid,only
believe.” That was the first advise Jesus gave to Jairus when the news of his
daughter’s demise got to him in Matthew 5:36. Hopeless situations naturally
cause fear and panic. To be on top of the situation the first thing is to eliminate
fear completely. Fear is a cozy environment for the devil to work. I love the
popular acronym for FEAR.
F – FAKE
E – EVIDENCES
A – APPEARING
R – REAL
Fear paralyses. It always create a big insurmountable mountain out of the situation. It blocks every sense of reasoning. Fear also stops God from performing the needed miracle.
"And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief (lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus)" Matthew 13:58 AMP.
Fear causes great damage.
"The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; but the desire of the righteous shall be granted." Proverbs 10:24 KJV.
Fear and Faith both works like magnet. They attracts. What makes the difference is what each of them attracts. Fear being of the devil attracts the negatives while Faith being of God attracts the positive to our lives. Instead of being fearful
believe. That will do you a whole lot of good. Have faith in God. God works only in a faith filled atmosphere. You need Faith to please God; "It is imposssible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that He exists and that He cares enough to respond to those who seek Him. Hebrews 11: 6 MSG. With God all things are possible. Don't limit Him with your unbelief. Mark 9:17-27.
Jesus was coming in the
company of so many people on the way to Jairus’ house. But as soon as He was
told the girl had died, he sorted out His company and only went in with Peter,
James and John. Mark 5:37. Surround yourself with people of faith. People
who will affect you positively. People of like mind. With those people solidly
behind you, you can confront any mountain.
"Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces." Proverbs 13:20 MSG
"Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, I am strong (a warrior)! Joel 3:10 AMP
Even though you are weak you are not permitted to confess weakness in the Kingdom. Paul also says:
"for when i am weak (in human strength), then am I (truly) strong (able, powerful in divine strength)" 2cor 12:10b AMP
It is not about lying or boasting about your situation. It is about speaking the word of faith. That is how the kingdom of God operates.
You too can speak to that
dead situation in your life if you have faith. And you do not need so much
faith to do this. According to Jesus you only need a faith just like the grain of a mustard seed.
“And Jesus said unto them, because of your
unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard
seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it
shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:21 KJV
Call those things that be
not as though they were.
“(As it is written, I have made thee a father
of many nations) before him whom he believed even God, who quickeneth the dead,
and calleth those things which be not as though they were” Romans 4:17 KJV.
Life and death lies in your
tongue. It’s left for you to use it appropriately. You need to keep talking to
the situation. Confront the situation and speak life. Whatever the situation
may be, command it to come alive.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21.
Words are powerful! Do you remember the
whole universe came to being through God’s words? When
you constantly speak the word of God to any situation, you will surely see manifestation.
When Jesus held the little girl’s hand and said talitha cumi she rose up from
the dead. Your dead situation and hopeless circumstances
will come back to life in Jesus mighty name. Speak Life!!!!!
